A cooking space can feel visually heavy with the pots and pans and a big hood. But we did something here to open the space. I’m Dana King with Dana King Design-Build. I love the solutions that Rachel, our designer, came up with. We opened it up here with open shelving. We have a beautiful pot rack that allows us to bring in some practicality to the space that feels very open and not congested. Lots of countertop space, a beautiful pot filler here. And then you have some organic elements, like the plant. And I love bringing in pictures or paintings into a kitchen because it’s not expected. And then also you have these sconce lights as well. Another unexpected element. We don’t have to have everything look utilitarian or to feel very stark. This just feels open and invites you to come here to cook and invite others to cook with you.
